Thanksgiving Review

Hey! Nothing really to report on in this blog, I just wanted to document how amazing this past Thanksgiving was!

I am truly blessed to have such an amazing family. Sometimes I can't always say that for my immediate family, but my entire extended family is really amazing! We all have fun no matter what, and we all truly genuinely love each other. This has been one of the best holidays I can think of in a long time.

I remember there was one thing that kind of stuck out with me, but not in a good way. For the entire break, practically someone was watching a football game on TV. At the end of the Auburn game, Auburn won, and the reporter asked the coach how it felt, and what they were thinking and the first thing he said was, "Well, God is good!" And my mom went like "Oh, yeah right! Like God really cares about football- come on!" And I was really taken aback. Was my Mom really criticizing someone for immediately praising God and giving thanks for this accomplishment. With God, all things are possible, and this man obviously acknowledged that it wasn't him who won the game, but God who helped him become such a great coach. All our accomplishments are done so with the help of God, and I admired him for thanking the Lord rather than just saying, "YEAH!!! I did it!!"

I can understand that, yes, football is probably not one of the things God really cares about, but still, the coach felt accomplished and thought of God. I don't see that as a bad thing. That made me think about other public accomplishments, such as winning an Oscar. Many times, a winner will thank their fellow nominees, co-workers, crew, family, and sometimes even God. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not! God IS good! Does my mom think it's funny when they do this? I don't know, I never said anything about this at the time, cause I didn't want one more thing added to the list about 'Jane is weird for these reasons....' It's already in the past, and there's no point in my bringing it up to my mom, unless it comes up again at some point.
