I honestly don't think anyone reads this, but it's good for me to just kind of put out my thoughts about this kind of stuff.

Well, great!
Had a bit of a crazy mix up today in my schedule. I usually kind of plan out my day like, 'Morning: Work-out, breakfast, classes, blah blah blah.' so I can really fit in all I need to get done. Well, I had a mix up with some meetings I had to go to, so now I think I'll just have to unfortunately not exercise today. That just means I'll need to eat really healthy to make up for not losing so many calories today. I have a government test in the morning, so today really is about focusing on studying and getting a good night's sleep. But after the test, it's back on track with exercise! (yay!)
Workout Playlist
I found a really good blog called 'Matchstick Molly' and she has a lot of fun challenges and ideas for exercise, health and weight loss. One thing she recommends is making the perfect workout playlist, and posting it. Here's the categories she recommends, and my favorite songs from my iPod playlist!
THREE RELAXING WARM-UP SONGS:
1) Vagabond - Wolfmother
2) We Are Young - Fun.
3) United States of Eurasia / Collateral Damage - MUSE
THREE SONGS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL POWERFUL TO BEGIN YOUR WORKOUT:
1) Bulletproof - La Roux (this one NEVER fails to pump me up!)
2) Everybody Talks - Neon Trees
3) Helena Beat - Foster The People
THREE SONGS THAT MAKE YOU FEEL ANGRY TO KICK YOUR WORKOUT INTO HIGH GEAR:
1) Immigrant Song (Girl With Dragon Tattoo Cover) - Karen ) with Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross

3) God Only Knows - The Beach Boys (this is a new addition to my iPod, but it's perfect.)
THE ONE SONG GUARANTEED TO KICK YOUR WORKOUT UP TO THE NEXT LEVEL:
1) Sober - Pink
As you can see, most of my workout music is rock with a bit of pop here and there. Probably 75% rock, 15% pop, 10% oldies/classical. I think it's a good mix, and it always gets me going! I add a few new songs every couple weeks or so. Sometime's I'll just make a whole new playlist maybe of oldies, or even sometimes classical music that still seems to pump me up. Hey, whatever works, right!

MyFitnessPal
Just got a MyFitnessPal account! I like it a lot so far, and hopefully it will help me hold myself accountable and keep track of my progress. I like it's calorie counter, because I've never done that before. I really hope this is the next step to really making a difference here.
*crosses fingers!!!*

After Easter
Well, Easter and the Lenten season has officially ended. It's true, after Spring Break, I didn't completely stick to my Lent 'goals' (that is to say, I did have some desserts, but everything else like burgers, mac n cheese, fries, pop tarts, etc. I stuck to). I don't think I'm gonna go back to the way I was though. I fully admit, there is still a lot for me to improve on when it comes to health, but I still am determined and working on it.
This week's goal:
Work out every morning to start off my day.
Monday I will work out at the school gym before my classes start at 10am. I'll wake up at 7, get to the gym at 8, and exercise till 9:30. A good kickstart to the day and week. Will do that on Wednesday and Friday too. Tuesday and Thursday, I will just do stuff here at the apartment or apartment gym. If I have time to, I will also exercise in the afternoon/evening, but morning workouts are priority. It's out of the way and done with before the day's even truly started!
I feel like I still need to get better about the food I'm eating. I still need to add more healthy vegetables and healthy kinds of protein (in other words, more meat, aka chicken.) I bought some protein stuff to add to smoothies that I have a couple times a week, but I honestly don't even know if those are really all that good for you? I'm not an expert in these things. I might look at some nutrition books next time I go to the library and see what I can find. Not old stuffy books about diets and stuff, but something that's recent and has really useful information. I keep looking around online for tips, recipes, and tools to help me lose weight, and while I am finding some stuff, I want more.
I want to be healthy! I want to show that I can do this! I sometimes feel frustrated when I see pictures of friends who are really thin and looking great, when I know they eat like crap and repulse at the idea of exercise! It just makes me want to work harder to look like they do. I know, I know, it's NOT supposed to be about things like that. Appearance is just vain and shallow, but I'm sorry, I'm not a saint. It's just something I've always wanted, and I know with help and perseverance, it's possible!
