WONDERFUL weekend!

Hello all!,
So this has been a fabulous weekend! Friday night I finally saw Avatar, and it was just as awesome as everyone says it is. I felt like a complete dork, but I really liked it. I wonder if its gonna be like the new Star Wars or something? I'm not really into that, but I did like Avatar. Saturday was a pretty chill day. Got some stuff done, worked out in the evening (which I need to/will do more often), and today I went to work and had brunch with my roomie! And I even got to fit a trip to Hobby Lobby in there :) So as i said, all in all, a fabulous weekend!
What made it really nice though was the weather! Let me tell ya, it was BEAUTIFUL!! Sunny skies, beautiful clouds, somewhat warm weather, and it was really just heavenly. I was outside alot and just loved it :) It did make me miss Missouri a bit though, cause I remember it being like this alot in the spring time. I cannot WAIT for Spring! It'll be here soon, along with my birthday!!! 20 YEARS OLD!!!!! wow- thats crazy.

Habitat for Humanity

Hey guys,

So today I spent my afternoon helping with Habitat for Humanity! Its was fun, but also lots and lots of work. I went for philanthropy hours for my sorority, and I am SO glad I did it. I was thinking how so many people have 'Help with Habitat for Humanity' on their check list of like things to do before they die (at least I think people do) and I did it sort of on a whim. It was the most appealing choice for philanthropy hours. I mean, the other ones were like 5k runs, and I don't know about you, but to me, I don't see how that helps anyone. Yes, you do pay some money and stuff and you're running for a cause, but with this you know you are working directly for this family to build a home for them to grow in. Plus i'd rather be doing a fun hands-on activity rather than jogging... that is not my forte.
Long story short, I would really recommend helping out with Habitat for Humanity sometime. It seriously was TONS of fun! Who doesn't like ramming hammers into nails all over the place?? One thing we did when we were finished for the day was write little notes to the families on wooden beams and stuff that we built. I may be sore after a long day's work, but it was so worth it, and I absolutely loved it! The rest of the day has been pretty a pretty typical Saturday afternoon: shower, facebook, listening to music, and thats about it! Maybe its time to start homework since its 10pm on a Saturday?

Help Habitat for Humanity!

It is only the beginning

Hello readers,

If anyone does, in fact, find this.

I decided to create this blog on a whim. Not really much to it. There is no epiphany I had to write about, no baby, wedding, or traveling updates for you. Just me... being myself... which may even prove to be more interesting than pictures of palm tree honeymoons and "Can you believe it- the baby is now the size of a kiwi!"

In a way this will be like a new diary. How very 'Anne Frank' of me. On that note, let me share with you one of my personal favorite quotes by her:

"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment
before starting to improve the world."

Isn't that what people do on these blogs? Share their inspirational thoughts and aspirations? Well for now maybe thats what this blog will be. And now for a catchy, signature, sign off...
